Richard Ogle was Chief Constable of Gateshead between 1917 and 1937. He joined the Force on the 19th April 1896 and was Constable 65 G. He rose steadily through the ranks to Chief Constable.
Richard was a meticulous man who kept a diary on all of his arrests and the names of offenders; listing their sentences.
Here are a few pages from that diary.
This diary was loaned to me by Cath and Chris Bamford, Chris is Richard's Grandson, and I'd like to thank them for their help in allowing me to publish part of this document.
The book itself is to large in size to publish on the site.
I have a full copy of this diary in PDF Format if anyone requires any research.
